About Us
We are in the Historic District of downtown Ardmore. Our store was originally Gableʼs
Grocery, opened by W. R. Gable and his wife Ora Mae in about 1943. It was the grocery
part where we are now, plus the 2 buildings to the east which housed the feed & seed
business. Around 1960, Bob & Joyce Key bought the Grocery Store, and Naith &
Jacque Key bought the feed-n-seed part. The feed store has been closed since 2006
but the Grocery Store is growing organically. Literally!
In addition to groceries, meats, Stanʼs fresh chili & quilts, we sell veggie garden plants
in the spring and carry a full line of bulk garden seed (veggies) and organic fertilizers
that are specifically mixed to feed the plants theyʼre meant for. For example, tomatoes
use a different mix than okra or beans. We carry Garrett Juice, fish emulsion and DE
(diatomaceous earth). Lots of people donʼt realize that DE is a non-toxic bug-fighter and
we educate our customers on all the fertilizers and planting as well as the use of DE.
